Hey;

Got my sig 220 (its a sub 190k west-german) stripped almost completely to do a gunkote job on it.. slide is getting a wee bit thing in the blueing. Figure i'll do the frame while I'm at it but I can't for the life of me figure out how the mag release comes out.

Anyone done it? How the heck does it come out?

Also, any one have a good source for sig 220 barrels? Mines an original and the rifling is pretty shallow... I'll take some calibers to it eventually but its probably close to time to replace.

Thanks,
Ming

At the front of the mag release button is a small "half moon" shaped plunger. Depress this plunger with a small screwdriver and the mag release button should be pushed out by its spring. Control the small plunger and spring as they will "fly" on you.

BTW - pay attention to the orientation of the plunger as you remove it; if you put it in crooked or upside down when reinstalling the release you are in trouble.
I will echo this warning. When in doubt, don't do it. The mag release will still work but you will not be able to remove it again. When reinstalling the mag release you want the longer part to be on the inside of the frame.
