If cost was not an object, which one would you guys choose as a CCW piece - the SIG P220 or a H&K USP .45 compact?

Any pros/cons for either? One of them is likley to be my next purchase.

I am a SIG guy so I have to say the P220 but really it is a toss up as far as reliability etc. goes.

I find it easier to conceal thinner guns and the P220 is larger but thinner. The USPC is smaller but feels quite a bit thicker.

So given the choice I say SIG P245. :neener:

+1
I am also a SIG guy so I have to say the P220 but really it is a toss up between the 2, Both very fine guns

I own a P220. I prefer the slimness of the single-stack grip as opposed to the USP. I've shot a USP plenty, as I have a friend who has one, but if it were to be a carry piece, I'd take the P220, although I carry a fat-grip P229 most of the time. SIGs just feel better in my hand.

Rabbit.

Oh thats a tough call, but I think the nod would go to the P220. I just love SIGs.

The P220, IMO has a better trigger both in DA and SA. The P220 also feels better in my hand than the USPc. Lastly I like the sights on the SIG more than the USP's.

But, the HK USP has better controls, I like the idea that you can keep the gun in condition one or DA/SA mode. The USP Compact is hardly compact however. Its actually quite wide.

The SIG wins in this contest, but not by much.

Sig uses standard rifling. Hk uses polygonal rifling in the USP45c so you won't be able to shoot cast lead bullets in the Hk. I also find my 220 is more accurate and easier to handle with hot ammo than the Hk.
Both hold 8+1 so that's not an issue. Depending on which version of the USP you got you could carry it in condition 1 if you wanted to. Sig is DA/SA or DAO. No manual safety.
It's a toss up. Both have pros and cons but I prefer the Sig.

I've got both. I've carried the H&K compact for about 5 years. I have 2 45's that have always fed, fired and ejected - my Les Baer and my H&K.

I tried them both, along with numerous other DA .45's. I ended up with the Beretta 8045D mini cougar and the S&W 4553TSW. I found those to be the best quality and ergonomics, along with being much easier to conceal.

I have owned a 220 in the past, and I now own a couple of HK's USP's one compact and one full size. In my hands, and this is totally subjective mind you the HK USP is by far the most accurate mainstream 45ACP semi auto I have fired or owned! I have owned more then a few 1911's Gold Cup (Series 70), Series 80 Officers Model, Series 80 Commander, and a Series 80 Gold Cup. I mean I shot the front sight off the GC, I had the sight pin break in the Elliason GC rear sight, a finger of the collet bushing break on the Series 80 GC, and a few other problems that are common to 1911's. I loved the 220 in that I could shoot lead reloads. It was accurate, but in my hands the USP is tops!

i just ordered an H&K P200 v2 9mm as well ... all good , all useable , whatever twists your crank for ya ...
