Well, just bought a new Sig 228. Took it to the range and fired about 8 magazines of ammo through it. Lots of problems. Slide failed to lock back after last round fired in magazines. Had 3 different mags and same problem on all.
Then the worst, was getting 2-3 stovepipes on each magazine. Sometimes an empty casing causing the stove pipe and other times it was a failure to feed new round proberly.
Also, seemed the ejection of the rounds was not strong at all. Just popping up about 3 inches straight up and then coming back down, so I am thinking maybe this is all a poor extractor/ejector problem??
I have extensively used sigs (226s and 220ST) in the past and have never ever had one hiccup at all! And my old company in Iraq all used Sig 226s and I don't ever remember any problems. AS far as ammo, using standard 115 gr ball, remington, from Walmart. Had bought a case and the ammo is working just fine in my Glock and HK P7.
ANy thoughts? Will take back to dealer tommorrow and have it sent back to Sig.
