I'm looking into purchasing one of these two soon. The Sig is used from a friend, and the CZ would be new. I know are good manufactures and each one has somewhat of a cult following.

Its mainly going to be a range/target gun.

So accuracy is really what matters to me.

I have shot the Sig, and the CZ They are both very nice, and have certain advantages and disadvantages.

The both also have great reviews on reliability, The only thing im unsure of is accuracy, I have not shot wither one from a rest to see which can hold the tightest groups. That is what i was hoping to get some input on

So what do you all think?

Almost nobody tests their pistols from a Ransom Rest or equivilent. I surely don't. And that means that I, and not my pistols, are the limiting factor when measuring their 'accuracy'.

I could tell you that, say, the CZ is more accurate, but what that would really mean is that the biomechanics are such that I can shoot the CZ better. That doesn't mean that it's the most mechanically accurate.

In short - I dunno, dude.

I have CZ-75 and a Sig 226, both in 9mm.

I find the CZ to be more accurate than the Sig.

IMO I think one difference for this is the bore axis: the CZ is lower than the Sig. This I think helps with the accuracy.

If you have an opportunity to rent both of these guns at your local range, that would answer the question definitively !

My 2 cents...

I've owed both at one time.

SIG: High bore axis..DA mode. Feels clunky in my hand. Don't like the slide release or decocker. Mags are expensive and often
hard to find. Cruelly over-priced in this US economy.
Some SIGs are not even fully made in Germany, anymore.

CZ75: low bore axis..you can really get into the sights fast.
DA/SA option. heavier than most would like but Ergonomics are superb. Mags are reasonable and abundant.
Usually costs far less than a SIG.

I think every SIG owner should test fire a CZ of their choice
for one day.

sig p228s are getting harder to find.

i can shoot my sig p6 more accurately than i can my cz75

The low bore axis will allow follow up shots to be placed more rapidlly. It has no bearing on accuracy per se.

I don't like what I hear and see with the Sig alloy frames as far as durability goes. They don't seem to last much longer than 15-20K rounds. I'm aware of them developing problems related to this issue in at least one T&E for a federal agency.

I have had CZs, Sigs and HK to name a few. I still have the HK. Thought I'd throw in a few pics as well.

If you have the money to consider a Sig then you owe it to yourself to check out an HK. This has been the ultimate combat/carry/defesive pistol so far in my experience. It's light, dependable, durable, very accurate, has an excellent out of the box LEM trigger, factory night sights and has 18+1 capacity. Yes, I'm selling them but I also own one for personal use/carry.

Which variant HK do you like best?? how does the USP compare to the P30...thanks..always appreciate your opinion

Well, I've shot a few, my bro. in law's PD uses them, but not alot.

I honestly prefer the one pictured. It's a Combat Competition without the race sights (it has night sights) and the match trigger.
I like the idea of not having anything get in the way when I want to pull the trigger.
Initially I was hesitant to order it with the LEM trigger, but I gotta say it's one of the nicer "duty" , "safe action" or pseudo "DAO" triggers I've shot.

Each pull of the from first to last is the same weight and feel. The reset is short and with just over 5 pounds of pull and no creep you don't jerk the trigger.

I've only briefly shot a P30 that I sold to a customer. The grip is more ergonomic but I prefer the USP. I really like the M&P, it too is very ergonomic but a bit small for my hands. Not too small as to hinder handling but I like the size of the USP.
Anyway, they shoot pretty much the same, again, I prefer the LEM trigger and shot recovery is identical, IMO.

I own a 75B and am quite happy with it in terms of
reliability, fit/finish for the price, and it's very accurate.

Q - Isn't the SIg 228 a single stack? I've never read a
review of the 228 and it isn't in current production however,
SIgs in general have a fine rep. as accurate.

Bottom line - if you are a federal agent, intelligence operative, law enforcement officer or civilian possessing a SIG P228, don't feel shortchanged or undergunned. You're carrying one of the best pistols made. World-class reliable, accurate, ergonomic and easily controllable, you can't get much better. Stick with it, practice often and with realism, and know that this gun will hold up its end of the bargain when you need it to.

I find it interesting that the reviewer/author needs to offer this type of support.
Tell me how I should feel about my gun. HA,HA!

Its all about which one fits in your hand better....

Who cares which one is mechanically better off a rest. Its all about which one fits your hands better......

No one on the internet can tell you which one that is....

For me no matter how much I loved my custom Angus Hobell Cz the Stock P228 fits me better and therefore I Shoot better with the P228.

BlindJustice seemed to be looking for a review. honestly, i'd like to know how to feel about your gun too.:uhoh:
