Sig 365...do you think people are excited about it?

SIG marketing wants them to be. It's an announcement by a top tier pistol manufacturer claiming to have solved everyone's carry problems. Of course there's tons of hype out there. Be patient and wait for the reviewers to get their hands on it.

Well, it certainly seems to have generated some interest on various forums. It is roughly the same size package as the Glock 43 or Smith and Wesson M&P Shield with much better magazine capacity.

I would have to handle it and preferably shoot it before getting "excited" about it, and would like to see a few unbiased reviews. I have two SIG P320s and if the trigger pull turns out to be similar for the P365 I would consider it to be quite good (for a striker-fired pistol).

Didn't we just have this thread?

Yes, the gun looks like it will appeal to many people, including me. I'm definitely interested, maybe even more so than with any other newly-introduced firearm to come out since I've been shooting. But, I wouldn't say I'm "excited." In fact, my interest has waned somewhat since the previous thread.

Since Sig has managed to insert 10 rounds into the space that other manufacturers have inserted 7 rounds (and 6 in some cases) I’m a bit concerned about spring life in the magazines. More rounds would seem to indicate less spring pushed closer to its elastic limit. Springs not taxed to their limit last a very long time. Springs pushed to or beyond their limit do not. Other than that concern, I am anxious to see this Pistol.

I’m curious about longevity of the grip. To do what they claim to have done, they either had to make the grip really thin and/or use a super-material. I assume they used a steel mag to gain some room but they still had to steal some space from somewhere else.

I'm curious. Definitely not excited and probably not interested enough to ever purchase one. But I like my 5-shot revolvers, so the difference between a 7+1 Shield and a 10+1 P365 doesn't mean much to me.

My curiosity stems from seeing how the rest of the market will respond.

Be patient and wait for the real users to get their hands on it, not just the fanboys, bloggers and industry supported people. It sounds too good to be true, and there's an old saying about that.

Interesting design but given the mess the P320 was, I would not even consider for at least a year after it is available. My Walther PPS does fine for me for a thin 9MM pistol and if I feel I need more rounds I can CCW my Glock 19 failry comfortably.

I will happily admit being hyped up. I’ve come to the conclusion that the G26 dimension double stack sub holding ten rounds is a silly compromise. If I’m going to put it on my belt I might as well wear a G19. Same goes for the single stackers. They are all too big for MY pocket so if I’m going to the belt they don’t interest me in that application. My only “deep concealment” need is during my morning run which I use a G43 for due to the weight savings moreso than concealment. After a number of years of trial it’s honestly no harder to hide a 19 than a 26. Plus I live in arizona so if you get a little peek while I am putting my kids in theirs car seats I don’t really give a rip. I’ve already sold my Glock 26, my Ruger sr9c, and my m&p compact. Carrying my Glock 19 exclusively until the 365 arrives. I am hoping it will work out to accompany me on my morning run as an upgrade from my G43. If it doesn’t I do admit I will be disappointed.

I’m intrigued. Kel Tec’s P11 has owned this size-to-capacity niche for more than a decade with its challenging DAO trigger and minimalistic manufacturing (equals “feels cheap”). The P365 is within tenths of an inch of that size, & within only a couple of ounces that weight - with a striker fired trigger & SIG quality and function. If SIG executes the build with no issues, it has no current significant competition at 10 round capacity (with all due respect to Kel Tec’s trail blazing concepts).

Another small, plastic gun? Yawn.
Also, I’ve never seen a Sig that wasn’t...about as attractive as a Hi-Point.

But then, I like steel, single-action pistols. YMMV.

They did it by going from single to double stack deeper in the mag, not jamming them down tighter. That said, you may have a point, we don't know how tight they went.

I'm interested. It carries the same round count as my P30SK. If it's significantly smaller as it appears to be, AND feels good in the hand and has an acceptable trigger reach to suit my mits, I'll probably give it heavy consideration.

Need to see it in person though, and I'll not be beta testing it. Going to be a solid two years before I even consider buying one.

It's probably the only Sig pistol out there that has any attention of mine. If it can do that, it's doing something right. 10 rounds in a Glock 43 sized gun is impressive as hell, but is it going to make me give up my subcompact Glocks? Probably not. Is it going to make me stop and think about buying a Ruger LC9s? Yes, yes it may.

Got to see a real size brochure at my LGS earlier today. We laid a G26 on the life size pictures and the 365 was just as thick. It was not as tall or as long. I will wait to put my hands on one but this realization cooled my jets considerably.

The video is hilarious - the dude was so "excited" to test out a Sig 365, he did the orienting math to carve one out of wood... Embarrassingly desperate in my book...
Finally, someone got it.

I'm definitely interested in this Sig and I'm curious as to what engineering feat they used to stuff that many rds in there when most are managing 6-7 rds and if they appear to work I'll definitely be buying one.

That guy is just an extreme example though.
