had to order a gun for somebody and also ordered this 522 to get free shipping..

I've been all over this thing and LIKE it. Usually I tell folks to get a 10/22 but lately accuracy seems to be an issue for the 10/22 :barf:

522:
lots of creep but light trigger, smooth too
excellent fit and finish
cheap commonly found mags
US made by Sig (Sig-US)
upper separates same as AR15
lower internal parts easy to access
folding stock solid, w/rubber pad
Williams peep sights
standard threaded flash hider not pinned

quitting time today will bench-shoot behind store for accuracy test, already assigned it to myself :D accuracy results will be posted here

Such a deal! :)

Love ours, I picked one up when they first came out and was happy to get another for "free" with a CDNN deal a while back when I bought my SIG 556 DMR rifle.

My wife loves shooting it, so its nice to have a pair when we go out together. Get a bunch of the Black Dog mags and have and much fun as you can with what .22 ammo you can find.

Much more reliable than any of our three 10/22 rifles are with 25-round mags and bulk pack ammo.

Mine is fun enough but a jam-o-matic!:fire: A better .22 is my H&K MP-5SD. As accurate or even more so than my 522 and has been boring reliable with any ammo I've run through it.

thanks for the posts wally & Grunt..

follow-up shooting test:
slapped a 2.5x Sightron shotgun scope on top (old eyes) and only shot 50 Federal Champions (blue box) but not a single FTF or FTE

at 50yds my groups (benched) were 1" to 1.25" which equates to 2-2.5 MOA

I'm happy :D
