Hey all,
A question for a non-smith attempting a bit of simple mods.
I am putting a Troy quad rail on a Sig Sauer P556 pistol. In order to do this I have to remove the front sight. It is staked in place. So, if I buy an appropriately sized punch, I should be able to tap it out right?
Steel or Brass punch though? It seems like steel would be the way to go, so long as I'm patient and don't bang it into the upper or the gas block.
Also, I noticed that the hex screws on top of the upper that hold the short picatinny rail on had red Locktight on them. I am also trying to remove the A2 flash hider and put an AAC Blackout Flash Hider on. The A2 won't budge, so I'm assuming they used an obnoxious amount of red Locktight on it. Any special trick to getting this thing off, or is it just a grip it with a wrench and crank?
