I accidentally stumbled into a Sig 556 with folding stock at a very good pass, and I decided to pick one up. What are my options for attaching a sling that would work with the stock folded or extended?
Is it the Classic or the older 556? If it is the older 556, you can use this to put either a 2 point with an HK style front clip or a single point sling. I had one on my 556 Commando before I sold it....
Is there a small loop at the rear of the receiver (not on the stock)? If so, a two point with HK clips on each end will work, or a single point with a HK clip. Any pics you have would help.
No there is not a loop at the rear, which is kind of perplexing to me because with the stock folded, I don't see how a sling is going to work. It looks like a loop on the end of the receiver just in from of the folding stock would have fixed this problem.
I utilized the Google Machine. Apparently the earlier Classic models omitted that little detail, but the most recent ones have a reversible loop to set up for righties or lefties. Don't know how they managed to miss that in the design and testing phase...
You cold try attaching this to the rail on top of the receiver and run a sling off of that, but like I said earlier, its functional, not optimal...
