First, oh yes, send the P220, as those gunsmiths at Sig USA, are perfectionist, and they leave nothing untouched, as though it were their own gun, you won't be disappointed when your guns come back.
On the Colt Defender, if it's clean, looks good, is tight, then I'd say it was there because the person either needed the money, or couldn't handle it.
It packs a punch, but with the right grip, and semi relaxed, not straight arming it, it shoots quite nice and gentle IMO, and I'm talking about putting 7 or 8 out fast, and you can see groups of 4-6 inches at 10 - 15 yds, and they are accurate at distance as well. Does it have the *Novak day sights?
*Mine does, and I think they are the key, in my case at least, but mine also came with a full, wrap-around Hogue fingered grips, which I like alot, for handling the recoil, which I really don't think is bad at all. Otherwise, I really love, and respect, this little 45, and lives up to its name.
So, for 540, you are beating what I paid for a new one by 400 bucks.
So, if it meets the eye and feel criteria, I'd snap it up..

PS.. if it comes with the factory mags, slim metal bottoms that are flush to the bottom, that may be why they got rid of it also, as they have a big tendency to stove pipe, and if you get 2, Wilson Combat Mags, 7 rounders, you will not have any jamming.. none, unless you limp wrist. This gun cannot be fired one-handed well, but you can fire it one handed, with your other hand holding firm on your firing hand's wrist, kinda nice too.. and accurate like you won't believe.
