Hello THR!
First post since the site switch, so bear with me.
My wife shoots a P226 Elite Dark in 9mm. We both really like it.
It came with a rear adjustable sight would consistently shoot itself loose to the point where you could move it back and forth with your fingers. Locktite wasn't doing it.
I replaced those sights (utilizing a qualified gunsmith) with Trijicon HD Sights. The same ones I have on my P239.
At 20-25 yrds, I am shooting below as 8" steel plate. I have to place my front sight over the top of the plate to hit it. At first, I thought I was just pulling the shot and dipping (not that I would *ever* do that... right?) so I had 2 other competent shooters confirm.
My P239 also shoots low. With the same POA, I am just low of the 8" plate. Put the big orange dot just above the plate and I am hitting it without difficulty.
My P226 with standard Siglite Sights is dead on as is other Sigs I was shooting that day.
Am I missing something here? Is there an cost effective way to bring that POI up just a touch?
Do the Elite Model Sigs have a different sight setup with the slide or is it the same (my assumption) as a standard model?
I am guessing that if I get a shorter front sight or a taller rear sight that would adjust it, but I don't know how much to adjust it by and trial/error method would be expensive.
Any help here is appreciated.
Thanks for reading!
