I've drooled over the P227 in all its flavors too but sometimes wonder if it's that much better than the tried and true P220 for only 2 more rounds.

Huge thumbs up on he 227. I have the 227 carry and absolutely love it. I did put the srt on it and it's my favorite 45. Excellent firearm and I would highly recommend this gun.

I agree. At least 12 in the flush fitting mag would be more appealing to me. That, and, sadly I'm not a huge fan of the new SIG grip styles compared to the classic P220. Too... curvy?

I had a 220 Carry before selling it and getting a 227-the biggest reason not being the extra two-round capacity (though nice) but rather how much better the E2 grip feels in my (largish) hand. It feels the same as the E2 grip on my SIG Model 226 (and fits the same holster). The "curves" conform to my hand better than the 220-all very subjective.

I debated about getting the Carry version in the Model 227 like I had on the Model 220 but, in the end, decided that the slightly shorter barrel did little in concealing the pistol better than the "standard" size-though I get the argument for choosing an even slightly shorter pistol for concealed carry.

The +2 rounds is also pretty significant in the proper context IMO. 13-15 wouldn't be as big a deal (15% increase), but 8-10 is a 25% increase in overall capacity and goes from single to double digits. Also hits that magic (crappy) 10 rd mag limit # in a number of states so it is the most size/power efficient full-size gun for those places.

I love my 9mm P226 and would like to add one of these to the collection some day.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm going to have to put my hands on one and see what I think.

I had a P226 years ago and I thought the grip was great in terms of comfort and ergonomics. I now have a P229R and feel the E2 grip is an even better improvement on the original grip design.

I have the P227 SAS & Love it! Also have a P220 two tone and a P245 love them too. I love the new E2 grip too and the SRT trigger will eventually find its way on to all 6 of my other SIGs. yep its that good!

Looked at one in a gun shop here today. I wear XL gloves, but even so, this is a big gun to grip. I have to alter my grip to manipulate the controls, and there's a bulge with the slide release above it that gets in the way of my thumb. I don't have this problem with my older, non-E2 SIGs. The grip texture is like sandpaper - very unpleasant. Nice trigger though. I think I'm going to keep an eye out for an older P220 instead.
