I have a p229 that does not have a 357 SIG barrel for it and one that does. Is there a real reason not to just swap the barrels as needed. Or would it be better to just bite the bullet and pick up another barrel ? The gun is in 357 SIG.The barrel shoots great out of both guns. What kind of a problems could i run into ?

Every time I've been to a Sig Armorers' School, the final exam entails disassembling your gun completely (except for the sights on the slide). All the parts are thrown into a bin along with the parts of the guns from the other students. You keep only the frame. Now, grab your parts and reassemble a working gun.

"Their" point was to demonstrate the high quality of exchangeable parts. So, go ahead, swap barrels.

thanks

I was thinking that. You sure can't do that with a 1911. Maybe you could if they were all springfield or all kimber and not from different makers.
