Sig P238 vs Glock 42 -easiest to load?

The P238 is easier to load and easier to rack and if you pre cock the hammer it is even much easier to rack the slide on.

With that said I like shooting the G42 more, but that is just a personal thing.

Very similar. As kokapelli said, the P238 has the advantage in that you can cock the hammer first, which then makes the slide much easier to rack.

I'm 81 and know all about the arthritis and reduced hand strength. I own both the G42 and the P238 and shoot them regularly. The P238 is easier to rack with the hammer cocked. However, I added Talon Grips to the G42 and on the rear of the slide I added 2 small pieces of the Talon material. The grip material on the slide really helps in gripping the slide. I also have extended magazines for both. Of course the G42 is a little larger and with the grip material I have no trouble racking the G42.

I like to pocket carry and although I carried both, the P238 is easier to carry since it's a little smaller. Both are accurate and fun to shoot. However, I too like to shoot the G42 better than the P238.

If you pocket carry the G42 you might be interested in this extra round magazine kit from MagGuts. It makes the magazine a seven rounder without extending the magazine so it still fits flush. I have a couple and they have been flawless. You can get the kit here...... http://magguts.com/shop/glock-42

Just confirming the P238 is easier to rack. I have both in the search for the right gun for my mid-50's, small wife with decreasing hand strength.

With a Sig P 238 If you first cock the hammer and activate the safety the slide is easily drawn to the rear. Then let it snap forward to chamber a round ---- with the safety on you get the extra margin of safety. My G42 is harder to rack the slide than either the P238 or P938 (with the hammer on full cock of course) and personally I am more comfortable with the Sigs recoil wise. I do not drop either in my pocket but instead use an in the waist band kydex holster. if I were so inclined the G42 would be my choice as there is less to snag and without the manual safety of the Sig there is not the danger of it being wiped off in the pocket.

I have P238 but don't have G42. My wife sometimes uses it on range and never complained about racking. And she had frozen shoulder problem several years ago.
Just my 2 cent
