I'm ready to scale down my carry piece (S&W 4043)and, in general, I've distilled it down to these two, I'm not looking for a pocket pistol, just something smaller in weight and dimensions, and prefer a DAO trigger.
I've owned three Glocks in the past, including a G26, but never got used to the trigger. I loved with light weight but the trigger never grew on me, also, it never failed on me in over 1,000 rounds I shot through it. Plus the ability to use a variety of sub compact/compact/full size mags was helpful.
P250, I'm aware of the history of the original, or first version released and it didn't impress me. I've had the opportunity to dry fire the "updated" subcompact .40 in a LGS, and liked the trigger, especially with the XGrip 13 compact mag-nice. Yes, it was slightly longer than my current DAO pistol, but I didn't mind it at all. I've shot DAO pistols almost exclusively for the last 8 years and prefer it. I'm familiar with, but not interested in the modularity of the P250.
I'm aware that the Glock will weigh less, has a successful track record, outstanding factory and aftermarket support for everything, and that the P250 will weigh more and has less aftermarket support (do they have any? ).
My method of carry is Appendix, IWB. I really appreciate hammer when reholstering my 4043 (slowly). Anyway, your thoughts are appreciated! Thanks, Mike
