Sight ?....

A rather tech question, someone probably knows by experience.
Will a dove tail cut sight for a Colt 1911 3" officer model, fit a Colt defender? I don't want to order and find out the wont. I ordered some that said they would fit a Kimber or Colt officer model, but the front sight will hang over the slide in the front. I did not mount them. Thinking I need to go to my gunsmith, tell him what I want and let him make it happen. More expensive way, but whata ye goin do. What say you? Anyone know about the fit?

Contact Novak's or Dawson Precision. If they can't supply you with the exact sight you want, odds are you are going to need gunsmith work (which they can do).

Another alternative is to call Brownells. They have gunsmiths on staff as well as most sights that you would care to order.
