I have sighted in the iron sights 3 different times on my Ruger Guide Gun in .375 Ruger. Very happy with the accuracy of the iron sights but there is no elevation adjustment and mine is consistently shooting 6" high at 50 yards, where it is supposed to be right on the money out of the box.

I am supposing I'll need a higher rear sight or lower front. Either that or Ill scrap the rear sight and use a NECG removable peep sight for the rear sight base.

Any other solutions or experiences with the Ruger Guide Rifle sights?

Where you hit with irons can vary with the shooter and the way he lines up the sights. If the error is not with how you are looking through the sights I'd contact Ruger. It should be right from the factory. I suppose they may have installed either a front or rear sight meant for a different rifle.

In my experience things like this happen too often with Ruger. But they always make it right if given the chance.

The NECG Ruger scope base mount Peep definitely solves the problem as does any adjustable 3/8" dovetail adjustable folding leaf sight on the Ruger rear sight base.

I am glad it had the issue and was forced to experiment. Like it much better this way and I like the Peep/Express sight double backup system.

Looking forward to how much the groups will tighten up with a Peep versus the Express sight setup. Does 1 1/4" at 50 yards with the stock sights.
