I just purchase a 20" barrel with rifle sights. To change the POI "higher" do you lower the rear sight? This barrel has an rifled choke tube in it that I replaced with an IMP CLY choke. Will I see much of an difference if I install a full choke tube? The barrel is an 870 Remington. Thanks in advance for the answers. :)

You raise the rear sight. Easy way to remember move the rear sight the direction you want the shot to move. If you want the shot to move to the left move the rear sight to the left. Lowering the rear sight will move the shot lower because you'll see the front sight higher and will move the barrel down to properly align the sights.

Later,

Dave

Renegade nailed it. As for the tubes, one has to pattern with every tube to determine POI.

That thread comparing 870 barrels mentions a Full tube that shot off.

IC is a very useful choke. If you ever get over this way, I'll be glad to take you out with a handful of my chokes and let you pattern to see how things change, or not change.
