Anyone have recommendation for someone who does “slide melts” or dehorning on ss autos that’s is reasonably priced?

TIA.

You do love a challenge…I believe the first melt (I stand fully to be corrected), was Clark Custom. I have had a ton of work done by the Clark team (though not a melt) and recommend them highly. That said, you have to define “reasonable”….

Dehorning in my mind is a different animal than melting….

While Clark has an excellent reputation and has produced many fine guns, I never could generate any love for that Meltdown. Looks like an apprentice lost track of what he was doing and the only option was to make it look like that was intended. It certainly removes the sharp edges and probably does help a bit with hiding the silhouette under a shirt. A good dehorn can make it as comfortable as anyone needs without spoiling the lines of the gun. Of course that depends on the specific gun, too.

Hmmm… I’m a fan of rounding sharp edges on a carry gun… but IMHO the slides/barrel bushings on those Clark’s are just a little bit too melty for me.

Their action jobs are first rate though!

Stay safe..
