Took the 10MM out today for some more range work and reload testing using 165 gr Speer Gold Dots over BE-86 and Power Pistol and the red dot kept shutting off after a couple of shots. Had to keep turning it back on so that’s not a good thing. Checked for lose mount and screws and all was nice and tight. Will be calling Springfield Armory in the morning.

I removed the red dot and will continue to wring it out with iron sites for now.

As for the reloads, Power Pistol won the round as the groups were nice and tight. Definitely feel the recoil with 10 gr of powder (max charge). BE 86 was milder with max loads but grouped quite a bit looser than Power Pistol.

Longshot continues to perform well under XTreme plated 180’s for range fodder.

Even shot another 25 reloads with a stout charge of 800X under 180 XTP’s without fail. So far this gun has not choked on any reloads and factory ammo I’ve fed it.

Did that come with the factory-supplied Hex Dragonfly? I've heard they are having issues. Mine has a Vortex Venom that has been returned to Vortex once for not being able to hold zero. Hopefully getting a Holosun soon.

Alliant Power Pistol is my go-to when it comes to the 10mm. It's a solid contender for hotter rounds for sure.
I've loaded a few hundred black powder coated 145gr SWC over a stout charge that works wonderfully from my RIA Ultra Tac II.
When the supply catches up to the demand, I absolutely intend on purchasing a 4.6" M&P 10mm as a trail pistol. I certainly hope this load works as well out of the M&P platform as it does my 1911.

I want the M&P as well and have 2 local gun shops looking for one for me.

So far I’ve tried BE-86 and Power Pistol under 165 gr Gold Dot JHP and Power Pistol at 9.8 gr performed the best. I have AA-9, Longshot and 800X loads ready for the range this week. Looking to get right around 1300-1325 out of the 3.8” barrel with the 165’s for personal protection.

Springfield is sending me another red dot. Also gave me a free return label for the defective one. We’ll see if the new one holds or I’ll replace with a Holosun

From what I’ve been seeing on YouTube the 3.8" Springfield appears to be running more reliably out of the box than the 4" M&P.

It's good to see a hand loader successfully wringing out the Springfield. From what I’ve seen I think the M&P is going to need a recoil spring change at a minimum and maybe a trigger to. I've never owned a Springfield but I've been impressed with everyone I've handled.

Good luck with the red dot and your load work ups.

We’re back on status. FMC (Full Mission Capable) for my military friends.

New Hex Red Dot received from Springfield and mounted. I’ll be taking it to the range today for zero and more reload work. More to follow.
