Small, sturdy, inexpensive case for storing 10-ish .22WMR cartridges?

I'm hoping to find a sturdy case for one or two reloads (5-10 shells) of .22WMR. Ideally, it would be flat, so it hides well in a pocket, strong, quiet (when holding a bunch of metal cartidges), and inexpensive. Hey, I have a custom holster with a shell-holder on order... but it's not here, yet. Maybe some sort of cigarrette case lined with a thin sheet or rubber...?

I'm currently using an empty Tic Tac box with the paper cut away from the lid so that it opens easily. It will hold 10 (maybe up to 12?) .22 WMR rounds in a more-or-less fixed place, if they are all oriented the same way. The biggest problem is that the case is still more fragile than I'd like.

MTM makes an ammo "wallet" that holds more rounds than that. It's about 20 or maybe 30, I don't recall. Anyway it holds them flat and the case is still small enough for a back pocket. You might also look into a something like a small section of an belt with ammo loops on it. It would be flexible, about as small as you could get, and still keep the rounds from being loose. Just a thought.

oops!,
I was/am paranoid about allowing the cartridges to be loose in a deformable container because they are rimfires... if I were to spaz out and kiss pavement, I'd not want an explosion going off near my crotch. ;D

Dark Helmet,
That was my very first thought, chopping up a "fancy-pants" .22WMR case to store 10 .22WMR rounds and still fit nicely in a pocket, but my Dremel melted through the case, rather than cutting it, and the case doesn't support the rounds very well without the rest of the container. Still not a bad idea, with a little hot clue and more work.

Carpetbagger,
That's almost perfect. I say "almost" because the case is for spare ammo for a carried NAA mini-revolver, and reloading that thing under life-and-death stress just isn't going to happen. I figured it might be prudent to keep at least ONE reload around, so that if, God fobid, it is ever used in a defensive situation, I can at least top it off once the threat has been dealt with, if I'm still alive. Carting around six reloads... heh, that's just silly. :)

I have not measured for length, but will they fit in a plastic film can? Or a match safe? Maybe cut a block of rubber to fit and glue inside, then drill holes to hold cartridges with a moderate grip. Holes drilled just deep enough to keep case heads out far enough to get a grip on them.

The CCI 22WMR shotshells come in a 20rd flat pack that fits very easily in a shirt pocket. Well, at least they used to - the ones I've got have a $1.97 price tag from a store that closed almost 20yrs ago :)

I suspect there's still something sold in a pretty similar pack.
