Smith and Wesson 4506--Thoughts and Experiences?

Had a 645 for a minute when they first came out. Carried it as an investigator and it was heavy! Went back to my commander. The in about 90, got put on a narcotics task force that required dovule actions and bought a 457,love that gun and it is doing duty as my nightstand piece today

I went with a 4506 because why not get the biggest. And it is big. I'd prefer the -1 with its rounded trigger guard and beefed up frame, but the no dash is almost as 80's cool.
Naw, you've got the best-looking iteration, the arched backstrap, hooked trigger guard and winged sights. My favorite version. I am still kicking myself for trading it off when I was going through another 1911-buying frenzy (what the **** was I thinking?)

A fine pistol in its own right. I've never been able to find one in good enough condition that I couldn't resist.

3rd gen s&w pistols are great. If they only didn’t have the magazine disconnect.
Well, some didn't straight from the factory - if an L.E. Dept or agency made that specific request (e.g., FBI and KSP 10mm model 1076s).

Similarly with the slide-mounted decocking lever. On some L.E. guns, like my ex-L.E. 4566, the lever is decock-only. Once you thumb-down the hammer, the lever springs back up to off-safe, and you're at a DA first-shot coming out of the holster.
