I'm thinking about picking up the 327 Nightguard but I'm not sure yet anybody with experience want to weigh in? The only other thing that I would want to get would be a U.S. Palm Defender vest for a bump in the night/just in case kind of situation but Im not sure how practical it is.
Thanks Yall,
Matt

Depends on what you want it for... if you're carrying, MAYBE. If it's for around the house, don't pay extra for the ultra-lightweight frame. The weight makes no difference unless you're packing all day, and the light guns kick a lot harder. Recoil makes rapid AND precise follow-up shots a lot harder, then, weight is your friend. Now, i have a nice Colt Cobra, and it's pretty light (aluminum frame) and I won't sell it ever, but my other lightweight revolvers are all gone in favor of good solid steel. I'd rather pack the extra weight around, if it comes to that. It's amazing what some shooters will give up to take 8-10 oz off their hip, when they won't give up anything to take 8-10 LBS off their belt buckles. For the cost of a Nightguard, you could probably get a Ruger GP-100 and 500+ rounds of practice ammo. That said, if i recall, you're still a year or two away from being able to own one legally, aren't you? Plenty of time to try out revolvers of friends, brothers, uncles, cousins, etc. and figure out what you like to shoot.

That would be correct, a couple years left till then, but since my dad is LE we can get it for about $720 brand new, I do like the gp-100 though, I might look a little further into that one

The previous post is correct, I think. I have the 329PD, the .44 mag Scandium gun. For my mind it's purely a gun that will be carried a lot but fired only a few times, and it's perfect for that and I bought it for that. The light weight in not required in a house gun and so I'd skip the recoil and the higher price if that's the intended use.

I have a 327 Nightguard. Excellent revolver...my nightstand gun. I put S and W wooden boot grips on it--looks cooler and fits my hand better. A bit large for carry, but will work in a pinch. Love the tritium sight.

I had a 2 5/8" PC627 UDR, which I bought 4/10, when I went in the local gunstore 10/10, with money in hand from a gun sale, to buy a 327NG. I switched to another UDR - simply because I found out that the 327NG is not moonclip-ready. There wasn't a McD's 'Happy Meal' difference in their prices. I don't mind the 10 oz difference, either. I needed two UDRs...

I have one that I got a good deal on a couple of months ago and it's really grown on me. I find myself carrying it a lot when working around the property or just hanging around, it's comfortable to carry all day. It's a great gun for general use, concealable with the right holster and a light cover garment. It's certainly lighter than a steel gun but it's quite manageable, even with full house loads, mine weighs right at 32oz loaded, that's about the same as an empty steel 2.5" K-frame.
