Guys, I'm in a bind and need some help and advice.

I have an SMLE .22 training rifle that I bought a good many years back. It was imported by the old John Jovino company, apparently from Australia. It was in pristine condition when I bought it. From what I've been able to gather so far, it is an original military item and not one of the cobbled-together parts guns Jovino is said to have also marketed. Receiver is Lithgow.

It is still in 95%+ condition, with like-new bore. All numbers and proofs correct and matching. For the life of me, I can't recall what I paid for it.

Due to some medical circumstances, I have to liquidate part of my accumulation. So far, I haven't been able to come up with much in the way of information as to what to ask for it. My reference material is pretty limited, and scouring the auction sites and classifieds brought exactly one similar item, and from the photos its condition isn't roughly comparable so the guy's asking price ($450, and no bids-surprise!) seems out of whack.

If anyone with a recent Blue Book or similar could help me out with a ballpark figure on one in this condition might be, I'd be much obliged.

"...Receiver is Lithgow..." Definitely Australia. The Blue Book will be about 2 years out of date. It takes at least that long to publish any book and it doesn't reflect local values. Suggest you surf over to the Lee-Enfield forum at http://www.jouster.com/. The guys there are right on top of current values.
