I don't like pistol caliber shot shells. Range is too short to be quickly effective. 410 shotgun works great.

In 45 colt I load 18gr of triple 7fffg with a cardboard separator.Then roughly 1/3oz of #6 shot topped off with a round ball. Works well and the round ball is always center of the shot and dead on with the sights.

I use #12 shot in the ones I make. Use Speer capsules for 38, 45 and made dies to form 308 and 223 brass for 45 ACP and .380.


Best patterns I get are from the 45 loads using .410 wads.
