This is what was supposed to be in the post.

Had my IAI M1 Carbine out to the range today. After going through a box of UNC w/o any problems I switched to American Ammunition that I just bought from Natchez. Into the third magazine one round would not load and the bolt did not go all the way forward. After clearing the magazine a check of the barrel showed a broken case was lodged there. This is the second time this has happened with the M1; the first time with UNC ammo. I learned from that experience and keep a broken shell extractor in my gun bag. Five minutes later the shell was out and I was back shooting again. Besides the broken case the American ammo had four rounds that would not fire. Glad I only bought two boxes of that stuff. I ran a box of Federal through w/o any problems. Anbody have any experience with Georgia Arm's 30 cal?

American Ammo Brand is probably the worst quality factory ammunition on the market at the moment.

Never tried any American Ammo brand rifle fodder; however, their pistol ammo is the worst stuff ever made.

To call American Ammo USA made Wolf is a huge insult to Wolf ammo.

"American Ammo" from Miami, FL, in the red & blue striped box....rotten

I got a box a while back to do a quick sight in and to teach a new shooter on my 243. the first one had a double throw of powder, it split the case from the neck to the base. I put that box away and decided it wasn't worth the danger to keep using it.

Hi, JBP,

Those are signs of excess headspace, due either to the gun itself or to the ammo not being within spec in regard to case length.

Have a gunsmith check the headspace on your carbine. If it checks out OK, then use better ammo.

Jim

The only squib round I've ever had in factory ammo was an American Ammunition .45 . It left the slug halfway down the barrel and ended my shooting for the day. It would have been a lot worse if I'd dropped the hammer on the next one... I'll never touch the stuff again in my life.
