One pulls out the trusty air rifle and happily plinks away, that's what. :D

I really wanted to get to the outdoor range today but with scattered storms threatening and a weather radar picture that didn't look promising it just didn't look worth the trip. So what was I to do?

So I pulled one of the air rifles out of the safe, a CZ Slavia 631LUX to be exact and headed to my very nice, albeit meager backyard. 45 minutes later I had a nice content smile on my face and a very dead Coca Cola can that tried to mount it's version of Picket's charge with much the same results.

Anyway for any shooters out their that think a "BB" gun is not a real gun and could never scratch any shooting itches you may want to take a few moments to browse some of the nicer, read non-Wally World, offerings out there today. These are not you Red Ryders of past let me assure you. I have a Beeman .22 that could easily take small game and has killed a possum at roughly 75 yards with a headshot. The CZ I shot today, however, shoots the readily available .177 caliber pellet and is a great plinking rifle for the money.

At any rate since we all know this thread is worthless without pics. Here they are.

Enjoy, shoot safe.
Chris

Cool pics! That CZ's a good looking airgun. :)

The combination of rising ammo prices and the less spare time finally got to me, so a few weeks ago I dusted off my .177 Gamo Hunter and bought a spring powered pistol. I agree. Just fifteen to thirty minutes in the backyard with a pellet gun and some Shoot-N-See targets does satisfy the itch nicely.

I even picked up a pellet trap so I can shoot in the back room.

not in stinkin' NJ

consider yourselves fortunate, cause i'm not even allowed to shoot my air rifle in my backyard here in stinkin' NJ.:(
i shoot my remington genesis air rifle in the basement at a pellet target i got from pyramid air...better than nothing...

fun, fun, fun

I think I'll dust off my Benjamine .22 air rifle.

We've been overrun with squirrels again and my wife is quite perturbed to see her bird feeders turned into squirrrel feeders.

I "humanely" decimated the polulation by about 30 critters three years ago with a box trap.....I took them accross the river and sent them into political exhile in NH.

But....I'm tired of baiting squirrels and catching skunks! To dicey getting them back out of the trap without you know what happening!

So, this week while the wife is up at camp with the kiddies and dear 'ol dad is plodding away at work.....I think I'll break out the Benjamine and humanely "wax" a few of the more brazen grays!
