I'm one of the people who had an identity theft problem after buying from Bud's a couple of years ago. After that they started the buyer's club thing: whaen I got the email notice I wrote back and said that if the model was now that I have to pay a membership to get access to the good deals and new stock I'd take my business to Gunbroker and local stores. I got a personal email back with a heated tone, telling me that Gunbroker has a bad rating with the BBB and generally flaming my assertion that some might take issue with having to pay extra to access deals. Bye bye Bud's, two strikes and you're out.

Some folks participating in auctions get the competitive vibe of " hey if i'm not gonna get the item this guy is going to PAY DEARLY for it". I don't mind competition of any kind but that is honestly like playing a game of chicken with the wallet.
