Sog trident 2.0, cant find info

I just picked this up new in box while browsing the lgs.
I can't find anything on this particular model online, with the kydex sheath and rubber grip material. Made in Taiwan, unfortunately.
$150, which was probably too much but certainly less than another gun I don't really need

I've always liked how Sogs look, but are the Taiwan blades as quality as the Japanese blades?

Question about old SOG Trident vs. 2.0 Trident

Is what is pictured the Seal Pup or the Bowie? The difference is the blade size, about 4.75" for the pup and over 6" for the Bowie. The Bowie goes for about 190 to 200 bucks depending where one buys it and the seal pup for about 50 bucks. I believe they use AUS 8 steel for the blade. It is a beautiful design and I favor the leather wrapped grips. T

Being that I was doing to many things earlier, your knife is a "tech bowie" and not a trident.

The trident is a folding knife.

Yup, its a tech bowie, I just noticed that on the blade, and the box they dusted off and gave to me is the wrong one, it says "Sog Trident 2.0". They look very similar to each other.

They also have what looks like a NOS Seal 2000 with "Japan" on the blade for $150 NIB, I'm thinking about scooping that one up after work as well. Its a big blade with a handle that's too big for my hand, but from what I'm reading its the real deal and is actually the more desirable of the two, I just didn't know it at the time and the tech bowie fits me better.
