Folks, I am a law abiding New York State firearms owner and taxpayer. I do not appreciate that the Government of my State is making me a criminal; especially to serve the venial, pernicious ego of some of our politicians.

I have spent sleepless nights and worrysome days trying to figure out what comes next. My WNY elected representatives were informed of my position, they voted against the SAFE Act and were duly thanked. I have been a member for many years of NRA, NYSRPA, and SCOPE and donated to their PAC's. It is time to do more, and that plan is as follows. The logic is below.

In the SAFE act, there were no provisions for transfer of "large capacity ammunition feeding devices" or posession of same by Law Enforcement. This may get fixed soon, but with this still questionable; we may have a chance to exercise some pressure. Also, after April 15, 2013, it will be illegal to sell a magazine holding more than 7 rounds in NYS.

My plan is this: If we as gun owners in New York and across the United States would contact manufacturers of Firearms and Accessories, specifically magazines, and let them know that we; law abiding gun owners, in New York State and the United States of America, WILL NOT purchase any of thier products if they do not:[/FONT]

A) Immediatley cease to ship to New York State any magazine of greater than 10 round capcity. Cease shipment of magazines of 7-10 rounds after April 15. Standing contracts signed prior to January 14, 2013 for magazines holding more than 10 rounds for law enforcement firearms should be filled in accordance with contract terms; as well as exempting sales to Federal Agencies. However, until the Legislature "fixes" this issue, it should be accompanied by a signed indemnification from criminal and civil prosecution for the delivery of such product. This applies across the board; civilian and law enforcement sales.

B) To handgun manufacturers; strongly and seriously consider ceasing to ship hanguns for any purpose, civilian or law enforcement sales, to New York State that have the capability of accepting a magazine holding more than 7 rounds; unless they include a minimum of 3 such magazines with each handgun. Again, exempt current standing contracts and Federal sales.

C) Immediatley cease shipment of any rifle or carbine that meets the NY definition of an assault rifle to New York State for any reason, including law enforcement sales. Again, exempt standing contracts in force prior to January 14, 2013.

D) Advertise the above cessations, using available media, but accepting that the above policies may need to be posted only on the Manufacturer's website.

E) When the laws are changed to allow us, in New York, to retain our pre-9/13/1994 (Federal AWB) magazines without cirimnal penalty and have new 10 round magazines that we can load and carry with 10 rounds, then manufacturer's can ship full capacity magazines and handguns, with proper restrictions and legal disclaimers, to law enforcement.

I know there are some people who find that the concept of not allowing law enforcement to have the "best" equipment available to perform thier jobs repugnant. However, as of right now, the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act is the Law in New York State and applies to all of us in this geopolitical realm. All we ask is that manufacturer's and distributors follow the laws of the State or be punished in the marketplace by law abiding firearms owners everywhere. Remember, there are more of us than them and we, the law abiding civilian shooters purchase far more in terms of firearms and accessories than the law enforcement agencies of New York. If this could multiply nationwide, the power of the free market will be re-estabilished.

Think this could help.

What about all of the dangerous weapons at military bases?

There is even an arsenal...better get that shut down too.
