Heh.

"Our feeling is that police, who are trained in handling firearms, shooting accuracy during stressful situations and in making quick decisions and judgments, should be the ones with weapons," Penn State spokeswoman Lisa Powers said via email Friday. "They are the experts."
People seem to put an awful lot of faith in police training, despite many private citizens devoting more time and money to training and practice in firearms proficiency than the overwhelming majority of LEOs. A badge is not an indication of anything more than basic proficiency (and even that is sometimes questionable).

So many of the General Public, have the erroneous idea, that wearing a uniform gives skill. I will tell you that is not true, I spent over twenty years, teaching, and the skills of the private Security, match the police, and the skills in IDPA/USPSA competition, far surpass either.

The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good Guy/Gal with a gun, especially in protecting themselves.

And how you will react to a threat? Is an individual thing.
