Has anyone who owns one noticed that the slide's paint job is pretty durable? It is powder coated paint, right? I've shot mine, wiped it down and it looks like new.

The C9 i just got rid of had almost 3000 rounds through it. A simple wipe-down with a silicone cloth and it looked brand new again after every range session.

I have read a lot of posts about the "ring of fire" guns where people really feel they are dangerous. Enough people claim these guns are ones they would not shoot out of safety. I have never really heard that about Hi-Points. They may be inexpensive but they do have a rep of being reliable and safe. That is A-OK in my book. Nothing wrong with being affordable.

Hi Point gets very little respect from most but gets respect from people that have been so broke they couldn't afford anything more than a $150 gun.

If you've been there then you'll be thankful that you could buy a gun, period. If you haven't been there then you'll probably never actually understand.

Back in the day I was just glad I could get a Raven for $100 instead of saving up for a month in a bad neighborhood. If I'd known about Hi Point I would have rather had a 9mm for nightstand duty.

I owned one, didn't expect much considering I payed 50 bucks for it. Couldn't make it jam, and I tried pretty hard.

I had a .45, until I gave it to my oldest son. I never had any kind of problems with it, nor does he. The problem is, it's big, heavy, ugly brick with a trigger. On the other hand , who in the industry has a better warranty?

I own a 995-TS carbine and I'm not ashamed to say so.

I own a 995-TS carbine and I'm not ashamed to say so.

I have a group of buddies who all own carbines of some ilk or another,,,
Several Beretta's, several Kel-Tec's, lotsa AR style rifles,,,
I just wanted a toy so I could play with them,,,
And I didn't want to spend tons-o-cash,,,
So $239.00 later I had a carbine.

I bought 2,000 rounds of el-cheapo bulk 9mm FMJ,,,
Brunhilda performs just as well as their 6, 7, or $800 guns,,,
But she is definitely what I would call a beaten by the ugly stick gun.

I won't say it has never jammed,,,
But my buddies can't say that about their guns either

My Carbine performs just as well as their guns,,,
Just ten rounds at a time is all.

I spend less time cursing my carbine than any of my buddies,,,
One of them actually bought one "for his son to shoot",,,
I find it hilarious that he very often brings the gun,,,
But rarely ever brings his son to the range.
