Source for barrels w/ rifle sights?

or if wanting new... https://www.midwestgunworks.com/mossberg-500/barrel-assemblies.html

amongst others......midway, brownells, Natchez.....pretty much everyone carries some for of sighted barrel for the 500 and 870. 20-24" barrels with ribs and removable chokes.....those can be harder to find lol.

now IF your wanting cheep, then ebay used to have 500 and 870 barrels made in the PRC, but I dont remember any of them being anything but beads.

What's funny is that I could buy a new Maverick and swap the barrel for less than just buying the Mossberg barrel from MGW.

Sadly, that is the case with quite a variety of things from clothes to guns. Chinese stuff is significantly cheaper. I choose to support Americans, when I can.

Maverick is owned by Mossberg. They assemble the guns in Texas. I think some of the parts are made in Mexico, which is better than China or Turkey to me. At least it’s North America.

Remington having gone under, has a lot of people thinking everything Big Green is collectible.

Barrel prices vary on 870, by finish type and era.

Newer bbls don't have the detent on the ring.

"Economical" IMHO means used, and not from auction sites.
Need to find somebody at a gunshow.
Even then, prices can be a bit silly.

That's what I was gonna say. Not sure why the spare barrels never make it online but every LGS has a half dozen (and some scores!) of spare barrels of all sorts, I guess like sights and other accessories, considered Not Part Of Gun so go in a random pile when a spare comes with a shotgun.

At least once I got exactly what I wanted from a random store on a road trip for like $50 when new were $300 and hard to find because "used."

I got a like new Express 26 inch Remchoke VR barrel in a shop for 100 bucks two yrs ago

A friend called me from Walmart one day. Asked if I needed a rifle sighted slug barrel with choke tube. They had 2 marked $35 each. He got one and I paid him for the other. Things like that just don’t happen to me but this one time.
