It's about time for another South Carolina group get together. We had lots of fun last time, even though we only had a few people! Hopefully turnout will be better this time....

August 20, 21, or 22 (Fri, Sat, or Sun). Once again, we'll have to decide the location based on the day and the number of people that want to come. Hopefully we'll have enough MCRC members to do it there, otherwise it'll probably be up at Indian Creek.

If anyone has some land we could use, that would be awesome. I have no problem driving a couple of hours....

So who's in, and which day do you want to go?

I have access to an outdoor range in Greenwood county. The range has a few moving targets, steel silhouettes and plates and bowling pins. Also has a 200 yard rifle range and a skeet range.Unfortunately I will not be able to shoot the weekend that you mentioned.

Well, I'll definitely be in again. I don't need an excuse to go shoot my new 10mm, but this will provide one. I don't care which day...I get off work at 12:00 on Fridays so even that would work fine for me.

As far as weekends, I'm planning on going to the NRA workshop on August 14, but no other plans (that my wife has told me about, anyway) that weekend or the weekends of the 21st or 28th.

Saturday is best for me. Mother will be here to babysit the little one, and wife has drill (unfortunately-she wants to shoot too). I'm willing to drive a couple hours from Cola.

Mother flies out Sunday-not sure of the time, but I'm Mr Mom once that happens.

UPDATE: OK, Mom's flight is at 5:30 pm, which means I'm good until about 3 pm Sunday.

Saturday sounds good to me.

C'mon, I know there are more SC people here...RedSC, ttbadboy, lostdog, sportcat, Carbon_15, and I'm sure there are more!

BTT...there's got to be more than Yowza, LT, and myself out there

How come every state but SC seems to be able to run gatherings?

Seriously...especially after the replies to the last one..."whish I had known about it,"..."couldn't make it that weekend, but I'll come to the next one"...that type of stuff. I might dig up the old thread and start PMing everybody!

Hey Yowza, thanks for letting me know about this. As is my typical luck, I'll be on an airplane coming back from Dallas on Saturday and teaching Sunday School on Sunday. :banghead:

Y'all have fun without me.:( And, when you have the next one somebody please PM me again, I don't get into the Rallying Point very often. Hope y'all have a good time!

You're welcome, Red. Too bad you can't make it this time, but hope we'll see you next time.

LiquidTension, Red_SC was the only name that popped into my head to PM so you might want to let some of the other SC guys know if you haven't already.

Yup, mine's still good.

I also just noticed there's a gunshow in Charlotte that weekend...I may have an all day gun festival that day...

Lang, there's a word for you..."addict."

Wait, that word is equally suitable for, uh, other people as well...:uhoh:

Hey, the last time I saw you was the last time I got to shoot my own guns.

I did get to shoot M-16 qualification and a couple of quickfire sets at work, though.

And the last Charlotte show I went to was pretty good.

Well, I've sent out a couple more PMs to people I just happened to see while browsing other threads. Hopefully they'll check in sometime.

Is it too soon to start talking about specifics now that we're sure there's enough people for MCRC? Anybody want to throw out a time to meet? I'm not seeing anything on the MCRC calendar for that day, so I guess if we get there early we'll have our pick of the many ranges there.

Rick

Saturday morning is good with me. I have to take my wife to drill at 7:30, so anytime after that is good with me. (I know, nobody else gets up before 9. That gives me some time to maybe do some zero work before anyone gets there.)

I'm going to see if I can talk one of the LTs in my unit into coming along, too.

Weather forecast for SAt was 40% chance of rain, last I looked. Afternoon, probably.

From the MCRC newsletter:

Aug 21 9:30 AM NRA 2700 Bullseye PISTOL – Third (3rd) Saturday
Aug 21* 9:00 AM Junior Club – General Purpose Bay until noon

The GP bay is where we should be, unless everyone can agree to shoot rifles and pistols at different times. It would be easiest to get there after noon to make sure the place is clear.

Hmmm...after 12 would give me time to drop Mrs (SPC) Langenator at her drill, jet up to Charlotte for the gun show, and them get back to shoot, maybe with a new toy.

Works for me.

Well, I was hoping to go earlier, but if afternoon is the consensus then that's fine with me too. I think it will be more enjoyable for us if we can get on the GP bay, since we'll likely have such a large assortment of stuff.

I might be bringing my dad and a friend of mine along. That won't be a problem as far as number of guests go, will it?

Rick

I cannot make it. We had to cancel out work day last Sat. at the farm in prep for hunting season coming on Sept. 15th. So we are making up the time this Sat. Oh well, maybe next time.

Which toys to bring? Well, ALL of them obviously :D

Wanna say 1pm just to be safe? We should probably meet at the Hardees at I26 and US 321 then go down together. The gates may well be locked by the time we get there so everyone will have to be together...

That sounds like a good plan, to me. Especially since I'm the only one who can't get in alone. So should we meet at the Hardee's at one or are we trying to get to the range at one?

Rick

I don't have enough cases for all my rifles. Besides, bringing 5 K-31s would be a bit excessive. Not sure my shoulder could take that beating, either.

Got to check what ammo I have on hand, too. I've got a ton of 8mm, if anyone else has Mausers.
