Southern VT gunstores?

Going into VT for a bit of a vacation this weekend, and the wife and I want to look around in the local gunstores. Where would you recommend looking? Anywhere from 30-60 minutes from the MA border is fine.

Sam's Outdoor OUtfitters in Brattelboro (just over the border in Eastern VT) sells long guns, and some ammo.

Visit The Alstead Gun Shop in the small town of Alstead N.H. It shouldn't be more than an hour from Brattleboro..........Essex

If I may..
I just went to GunsAmerica and looked for transfer dealers using our 802 area code. There is a long list of gun shops throughout the state.
I have to admit when I first read the begining of this thread I smiled that you mentioned Bennington.
However I see that you will be coming up here to Orleans County which to me is REAL Vermont!! This is the section that is known as the Northeast Kingdom. It was named this a Very Long time ago for a reason that you will probably understand after you have visited!!

Might I suggest a trip up to Derby Line to the Haskell Opera House. This is the Opera House/Library right on the Vermont/Canada border, the marked border line is on the floor! Derby Line is (29) the last exit North on I-91.

If you have a handgun permit it is honored here in Vermont..But be warned to NOT go to Canada with ANY firearm or ammunition, not even one EMPTY .22 casing!!

If for ANY reason you go to Island Pond obey EVERY driving rule you can think of. Please go slow etc...There is a Chief of Police with a reputation!!!!

Hey! I'll be in Vermont next weekend. Just a quick stopover to see the leaves, on the way from Wisconsin to NY.
