I'm a fairly new member here, and don't have a lot (read: any) experience buying rifles, so I was hoping some kind folks could point me in the right direction. I'll get to the point. Questions are bolded for the TL;DR crowd.
I'm left handed and wear 36.5-37" sleeves.
My shotgun setup has a 15 7/8" LOP. I understand that LOP in a hunting rifle is not quite as important or the same as in a shotgun, but my arms are so long that when I shoot rifles that I borrow it is not very comfortable. How do I know the correct LOP for a hunting rifle? On top of that operating the bolt is not that easy being a lefty. So, I have decided to take the plunge and try to find a rifle before deer season.
I have done some preliminary search and have not had much luck. Is it possible to get a made to order semi-custom long LOP stock from any rifle manufacturers in a left-handed bolt action rifle? I've seen the Remington 700 Target Tactical stock and I'm not a big fan of the look or the idea of an adjustable stock, and I know the recoil pad route exists. Does a non-custom aftermarket route exist? Obviously I can get in touch with a custom stock maker (what happened with my shotgun), but at that point it is getting kind of spendy.
