I'm trying to decide which speed loader to get.It currently has hogue grips on them and I heard that they can get in the way .Does anyone have this setup that can help?Thx

I like the Safariland speedloaders. They don't rattle and there about as small as they get and they don't dump the rounds in your pocket.

this, and they do not require any fine motor skills to deploy.

Speed Loaders

I used the HKS for a while, but I have since switched to Speedstrips because the factory stocks would hang up on the HKS, and I can carry the strips in my pants pocket without printing so badly.

The standard HKS size for a J-frame S&W/SP-101 works fine with my SP-101 and Hogue rubber monogrip.

I also like the Bianchi Speed Strips. They carry flatter in a pocket and it's faster than you think to reload if you go two rounds at a time.

My experience has been that most speedloaders will hang up on at least 50% of the grips. If you're going to depend on speedloaders for self defense (or competition) you'll almost be forced to modify the left grip slightly. Dremels are actually good for some home gunsmithing. On rubber grips it helps a great deal to freeze them before sanding on them. Speed strips are easier to carry but take a little practice to figure out how to flex them so they release the rounds.
