^^^^^Not sure that's how it works.^^^^^
Barrel length is measured from the front of the cylinder not the back on a revolver.

Unless there was some humor there that I missed. :what:

Exactly! Pistols don't give up any pressure loss due to cylinder gap.

True. However on everything other than revolvers barrel length is measured from the breechface to the muzzle.

That means the EQUIVALENT barrel length of a revolver would include the cylinder length. That doesn't change the official barrel length on a revolver, but it does mean that when comparing barrel lengths between a revolver and something that isn't a revolver, one needs to keep in mind that the barrel length of the other gun is from muzzle to breechface while the revolver barrel length is from the forcing cone to the muzzle.

That can help explain why a 4"bbl revolver seems to shoot about as fast as a 5"bbl semi-auto pistol in the same caliber.

I had some issues with my sp101 were the cylinder would lock up after firing a 100 rounds or so when it was new wile I was putting in the wolf spring kit I found some internal ? Grit just a good cleaning and a little polishing fixed everything and the new springs were a big help also found a ber in the cylinder shaft hole I don't know the Correct name for it but i used a drill bit by hand to deber it
