Does anyone know if CLASSICBALLISTX is on vacation or what? I ordered a spare cylinder from them on May 4th, and paid with PayPal. On Monday it was marked as shipped, but just a shipping label created and it has not been scanned since? Today is Saturday the 13th and after two emails un answered.... I am thinking they are either on vacation or there is something wrong? Does anyone here know? Thanks. I know they are good people and sometimes bad things happen.

I've seen another have a similar issue. It was just a timing thing. He received his cylinder and was happy.

CLASSICBALLISTX is more of a hobby business than a for profit business and as such timing, communication, etc varies.
Just be patient.
Remember some custom gunsmiths have waiting time measured in months or years.

Why would they create a mailing label and not ship? Why no response to emails?

Why would they create a mailing label and not ship?...

I don't really know, but I'd assume that means they are getting ready. Seems like a good sign to me

...Why no response to emails?

Could be any number of reasons, your E-Mail address could trigger your message to go into Spam, he could be on Vacation, be working overtime at his real job, be sick, having computer trouble, etc. etc...

Since the label was created, it would seem that your order was initiated and is being processed. It is easy to get excited about a new purchase and impatient in our instant gratification times. It will be just like Christmas morning when your new cylinder arrives.

I have had similar happen when I ordered items from various vendors around the weekend. Items were picked up by carrier and nobody entered that it had been picked up. All arrived on time. Be patient and it will be there soon.
Have fun with the new cylinder.

Thanks guys, but my email address was good enough for the PayPal. I have no concern about their honesty, but I do need to be here to sign for it or take a 20 minute trip in town to the post office to pickup.

When I ordered my cylinder, it took a lot longer than yours has. I got a confirmation of the order and then nothing for quite a while. It was a quality cylinder and I have been happy with it.

Yeah, my cylinder is on the way!! I have been thinking but won't do it, load ROA one cylinder with birdshot and taking to SD when we go Prairie Dog hunting.... just for the rattlesnakes.

I've not seen this tested in .44/.45 cal but in .36 cal with a rifled barrel it does well enough for snakes to about 7 feet or so. I'd imagine with more shot it would add just a bit to that.

The High Plains Prairie Rattler is a small pit viper with a very limited striking distance. The ROA loaded with a round ball or a LEE ROA conical would suffice. ;)

Well my cylinder came today and I must say its looks to be better finished than the OEM one!

I am doing a big laser engraving job, but I managed to install the new SS nipples with a little never seize in between changing out job material. You can see what I do, just do a Search for Ankeny Laser Engraving dot com

First time I have ever had to Save the Box for a Warranty Return ? But I do Save boxes much to my loving wife's concern, but it adds value to any firearms sale or so I think anyway.
PS for the trip prairie dog hunting I think I will take along my little compact 22 revolver, lot lighter than that Ruger!

Been to SD many times, mostly pheasant hunting with modern shotgun, and P dog hunting during the morning with modern gun, haven't tried with B/p, but sure it would take a long time between shots, as we usually back off 100 to 150 yds and after a few shots, there's a delay of 1 to 2 hrs before they get up again.

You know been to SD 4- 5 times shooting those little dogs, only rattle snake seen was in the the display case in Wall, SD.... stuffed and dead.
The Prairie Rattler is nocturnal. They live mostly in the Prairie Dog holes. The males can travel as far as 50 miles from the Dens during the summer. They migrate back to the dens in early Sept in our area. They are visible during the day during migration. The Antelope season during that time of year requires looking before setting.:D
