Thinking about picking up a Milt Sparks Executives Companion or Versa-Max 2 IWB holster for my Kahr K9. Anyone here carry a Kahr in one of these? My main concern is comfort. Any opinions?
Many thanks!

Sarge,

I know you specifically asked about a kahr, but...

I have a VM2 for my HK P7 M8 and it is incredible.

That is a small but heavy gun. Your Kahr is lighter, so I can't imagine it being any less effective.

The VM2 is finely crafted. The attention to detail is evident.

Since the belt loops are on either side of the main body of the rig, the holster is very secure and the weight is evenly distributed. The rig is as thin as possible since the belt loops aren't located directly on top of the holster (like a Summer Special).

My P7 SNAPS into place. So yourf gun will be secure.

It rides best on a 1.5" belt, though I think you can order other size loops.

The ONLY thing I *might* change about this holster would be the outside finish. I like "rough side out" - but that's just my preference.

I have a Summer Special II for my Kimber CDP Pro. It too is an incredible piece of work. I chose it over the Exec Companion because it has the rough side out and because it has the smallest surface area (I'm a little guy). It's also a bit cheaper IIRC.

Waiting for the holsters is frustrating, but well worth it.
If you can't wait, I can vouch for Lightning Arms as an excellent reseller who stocks a lot of holsters - at a premium.

Good Luck.

Edited to say:
I suppose I didn't answer your main question directly: YES, they are extremely comfortable. For my money, they are the best in the business.

I have 3 Milt Sparks Versa-Max II's; 1 for a 3" 1911, 1 for a 5 "er and 1 for a S&W Sigma. They are, IMNTBHO, the absolute BEST IWB holter extant. The loops are available up to 1 3/4", and there is the option of the tuckable clips allowing the holster/pistol to be worn without an outer covering. I have used them and they work. They basically clip onto the seam of blue jeans, and then your belt kinda clamps them down, then you tuck the shirt into the clips.

As autospike said, they hold the guns very securely and distribute the weight extremely well. As to wanting the rough side out, I don't really see where this would add anything to a VM-II-they are held so securely by the offset loops/clips that rough side out isn't going matter.

I wear mine with a Milt Sparks Gunbelt. Between it and the offset loops, the weight of even a 5" all-steel 1911 becomes irrelevant.

Versa Max II

I own several and believe this to be the most confortable inside the waist band holster there is out there. Very well made.

just for clarification:

I like rough side out because it helps keep my pants from slipping :)

I like to wear those underarmor type undershirts that are really slick.

Slick, finished leather on an IWB holster will sometimes slip a little. The holster is securely attached to the belt, and the belt to my pants, but... sometimes my pants will slide down a little.

All you have to do is search 'VM II' to see that it is regarded as one of the finest IWB holsters (if not the finest) by almost everyone.

Definitely worth the $$ and the wait.

I regularly forget I'm wearing mine (Commander 1911).

I use a Sparks Watch-6 and have been very impressed with it. I have another IWB with the loops on the holster body itself instead of offset like the W-6 and VMII and it is much thicker, less comfortable and less stable.

I'm sold on the wide spaced loops regardless of maker, but the Sparks stuff is definitely top quality gear.

I use a Sparks VM-II, and it's amazing. My 3913 vanishes under a T-Shirt, and it's all sorts of comfortable. By far my favorite holster.

Another vote here for the VM-II. My full size 1911's ride in them beautifully.

The VM2 is a very comfortable IWB holster. As was said, rough side out is not really needed with this design. It stays put very well. The Summer Special is rough side out to aid in stability. The belt loops are much closer than on the VM2.

Eric makes a fine leather product too. I will trying one out 1st hand in the near future.
I'll have the black cherry please.
