Guy asked me last night if I’m still looking for a shooter M58. Yup, if reasonable. Says he has a pal with one in nice shape, 90%+ finish, excellent mechanically, no box. The third party bought it new for some $239 or 289 or the like, several years back. My friend says he thinks it can be had for $300 to $350.

I assume this is a fair price, right? In any case, M58s are rather thin upon the ground in this area. The 57s are more plentiful, and tend to go for a little lower prices.
I’m just hoping it looks good and has stocks I can live with. I’ve been wanting a 58 for some years now, but haven’t actively sought one.
C.R.Sam - - I’m also interested in the load y’all worked up for the 57. I’d probably be happy with something similar to the Rem 210 LSWC factory load.
I dunno what, if anything, a 58 will do for me that my .45 Colt Mtn Gun or short .44 SBKH won’t, but, hey, S&W N-Frames are their own justification, huh?
Thanks for the input.
