I want a bolt action that is scaled to the Carbine cartridge. No sense taking something designed around a Mauser cartridge, it would be overbuilt in every capacity. Not svelte at all. I agree with the idea of a reworking of a Hornet or maybe a 222 family of rifles.

Getting the bolt to grab the casings would be hard..... I think.

Yes, it would want an entire new bolt head, if not the entire bolt.
But, I was more thinking about the layout of the thing, a pattern, if you will.

Mind, was watching Matt C on Fuddbusters last night and he had a Win 351, which is a glorified blowback in a near Carbine cartridge. The linear layout on that 351 has some design juices flowing, as it were. Maybe to no end, but the imagination stirs.
