SO.....

In another thread I learned about spring loaded decappers. Dillion makes them for their resizing dies and RCBS makes them as well. Got one Dillion .357 resizing die and I love it. In a fit of euphoria I order 2 RCBS springloaded decappers. BUT, they don't fit my Hornady dies.

Seems the Hornady stems are ~7/32"x28 while the RCBS are 1/4"x28.

Oh wait, with more time than sense on my hands, why not get a 1/4x28 tap and MAKE it fit? So there a solution for a problem I didn't need to have in the first place.

It almost seems like manufacturers plan these little incompatibilities to get your accessory dollars. I don't like Hornady's "zip" spindles anyway so this is a great workaround.

Just FYI. The top half of the thimble is drilled out to 17/64" since it's not going to be threaded. Also my plug tap is only good for about 1" of threads. YMMV.
