Any one on here have any first hand experience loading these bullets in any of the basic 30cal cartridges (.308, 30.06, .300mag., or why) I know the commercial "Fusion" ammo has a decent rep. as a hunting round, curious what the "reloaders" say. Thanks

As far as I know, the "Fusion" term is a Federal ammo thing. I don't think Speer makes bullets with the word Fusion in them. For awhile, Federal quit marketing bullets and brass to the public, although I see them available again once in awhile. But both Speer and Federal have their devoted fans and make good products. I personally tend to stick with Sierra and Hornady just because they are commonly on the shelves of my local dealers and they work well for me.

Speer makes the fusion bullet for federal. Same technology as the speer gold dot. As far as I know, they're NOT available as reloading components. They're little better than a normal cup & core bullet made by Hornady or others. They are actually a COPPER PLATED bullet.

Speer Deep Curl is the same as the fusion with one exception, the fusion is a boat tail design, deep curl is a flat base.

Good info. I acquired some on another forum, now Iknow which way to head in reloading them. Anyone else have further to contribute--"jump in it".

I've seen data on them, but only in the Alliant 2011 manual. I haven't seen any except those loaded in the past 12mos in Federal Factory ammo as so-called "Fusion" ammo..

As another poster related above, the Speer Deep Curl is essentially the same bullet.

They are so new, they haven't hit the normal supply chain yet.

If they are indeed as good or better than the long-standing Speer "Hot-Cor" bullets, they are indeed onto something. I've gotten excellent accuracy and good game performance for the past 30+ years. I hate to see them make radical changes and drop them......

I expect that the new bullets will become 2-3x more expensive however if they become popular. ie: difference between Rainier plated vs. Speer "Gold-Dot" which are all now called "deep curl" bullets now.......As it is now, the plated bullets are a less expensive alternative to replacing old tooling and is cheaper than "bonding" conventional cup and core bullets.....
I suppose well soon see!!!

Personnally I'm looking foward to trying some of the new PowerPro 2000 and 4000 powders....

IF the deep curl is the same as the fusion, then here's a place to get some, and the loading data.

Speer says you HAVE to use their data because the bullet is so different from other bullets. I haven't done any loads comparisons yet, I may never shoot any. I'm a fan of the Hornady interbond, but these might be a better choice in that they're much cheaper. Deep curl, $28.99, interbond $48.49
