When S/A first announced what was going to be a simple "re-structuring", it meant 100 of their stores would close. That number included one of two in my area, so I trotted off to see if the Benjamin Nitro pistol they had was discounted any. At that time, it wasn't.
What I did find was a Blackwater M84 pistol (also sold in Europe under the "SwissArms" name. It's a CO2-driven smoothbore BB repeater. I figured it might make for some backyard fun, and a trainer for my daughter (age 7) and/or my wife.
I haven't shot it yet, and I doubt they ever will. Turns out the trigger pull is in the neighborhood of 25+ pounds. I'm gonna have a Popeye finger when I run this gun through its paces.
Funny, when I purchased it, the sweet young thing ringing me up asked for my email address, and I asked her why. She told me it was to start a "rewards card." I told her "Honey, this place is closing. I don't think there is going to be any point to a 'rewards club' anymore." As I left, I wondered if I had been the first to tell her she was going to be out of a job.
The second store began its liquidation (albeit very slowly) when the corporate plan changed, but they had little to offer in the way of air guns.
