I'm picking up a 1911 in 9mm for light recoiling shooting.

I was wondering if ordinary hogue wrap around grips would fit a springfield 1911 in 9mm. Would regular 1911 45 grips fit on this gun?

Specifically speaking about the hogue rubber finger groove grips here. Also, does anyone have a source for these?

I was also curious if anyone makes a .22 adapter to it on the 9mm 1911 frame. I'm thinking that would be great for cheap practice.

Thanks,
Jon

Grips are standard for all calibers of the full size 1911 family.

Marvel says their .22 conversions are for any standard frame. The 9mm's only differences are the ejector and feed ramp, which do not come into play with .22s.
Probably some of the others, too.

A Ciener .22 unit for a 1911 can be milled slightly by a gunsmith or machinist to fit a 9mm or .38 super ejector. It only requires widening the shot that the .45 ejector normally fits into on the Ciener slide.

Thanks or the quick replies.

I was PRETTY sure that I could pick up any 1911 grips and they would fit on my 9mm model. Good to be sure first though. :) Thanks again.

I am looking into the 22 kit..
