I recently purchased a used Springfield GI. Which I think has a black parkerized finish. I took it apart and cleaned it the other day and noticed there is a good amount of finish rubbed off the barrel around where is says SA .45 and some near the end. There doesn't appear to be any rust on it at this point, but is that something I need to worry about?

No

Shoot that thing and enjoy!!

What do you want a safe queen or a shooter?

The 2000+ dollar Springfield Professional has a Black T finish on the barrel that starts to show wear within a couple hundred rounds. The barrel shroud is a high wear area for any finish.

Keep her clean and lubed and you are good to go.
