What do you think the odds are that such a thing will ever exist? I gave my dad his first semi auto handgun that wasn't an ancient italian POS 25 auto with a broken guide rod. I gave him an xdm elite compact 9mm with a red dot (Christmas gift). He loves the thing and I thought about giving him a 9mm carbine to go with, for Father's Day. I have the take down Ruger 9mm and the folding Smith and Wesson FPC which I like, but decided against. Then I almost got him a Henry Homesteader, But I decided not to confuse him a with different set of mags. Then I decided to see if Springfield ever made such a thing which they don't. So I came up short and Just invited him over for a nice steak and shrimp dinner. If springfield ever does make an XD style 9mm carbine, I'll get him one. Maybe someday.

Ok, upon further research, it appears for some reason Kel Tec has never made an XD or XDM compatible Sub2000. I saw where some folks reported being able to make the XDM magazines work in a Glock-mag Sub2K by adding a cut for the mag catch.

Mech-Tech does make a carbine upper for XDM frames, but it looks like its not a QD setup and basically you'd need a 2nd donor frame to build it.

Bizarrely, the Springfield Saint PCC only accepts Colt pattern mags.

I’m not going to say never because there have been some weird PCCs come out the past couple of years. I can see Springfield doing this. It would have to be really clunky and have flames on it or something though, and maybe weigh 9 pounds and mount the optic underneath or something. ;)

I really don't know anyone personally that has an XD series handgun. And well considering they are made in Croatia they'd probably have to have a hand in the design.

I have switched over to XDm’s after initially picking up a 5.25 10MM version. The XDm 40 full size is my nightstand gun and I consider it just a better product ergonomically, stock sights and barrel than a Glock 22- of which I still have my Gen 3

Since I’ve got 9, 40, 10 and 45 versions id love to see them all. SA was, IMO, shortsighted to get rid of the XDm 40 line and reduce the versions with their fantastic cut-slide 5.25” barrel to just 9mm. Why the hell not keep that 5.25 version at least in .45 and 10?

Also, where did the full sized .45 with the 4.5” barrel go? That was a great gun!

40 cal Ruger PCC’s are quite pricey now after being discontinued for a good reason. If you’re already carrying a PCC why limit yourself to 9mm ballistics?

TLDR: Yes, SA, do it in 9, 40, 10, 45
