anyone out there own the 1911 a1 range officer model 19128? have read a lot of the reviews and most seem very positive, any advice? pros, cons? would be interested in feedback from anyone that owns one. thanks.

The "con" I often comment on is the adjustable sights.

Most guys new to 1911's don't realize the sight cuts are different. If you ever decide to carry the gun, the adjustable sights tend to get in the way, and are usually less durable than fixed sights. There are only a handful of fixed sight options (I don't think any look good) for that sight cut which could limit you down the road.

If it is just for range/competition use, the Range Officer is a fine choice. If you want a carry/defensive 1911, the Loaded model is often a better choice.

I do not have a Range Officer, but a few months back, I bought a Springfield Commander operator Champion and it is super well made. Fit is like a Maserati!
It has adjustable night sights, ambidextrous safeties and several other custom features. Finding a quality holster was a problem, because it has a 1/2 rail, so I finally decided to have a custom holster made for it. If you like the Range Officer, I would not hesitate to get it!

I have the 'Loaded' PX9109LP parkerized .45ACP model and love it.

The 'not so adjustable' sights are fine if you don't mind using the 6 o'clock sight picture.

I would recommend the model with the fixed dovetail rear sights and the fiber optic front. (PI9131LP)
