Ran into a Springfield Armory 'Compact' .45 1911 handgun.

It has a 3.75 inch barrel, stainless, with bevertail 'memory grove' safety, stainless, high 'GI' style sights, and wood stocks. The recoil spring plunger is like the old Colt Officers Model .45. Has extended safety and slide stop.

Condition is pretty good with just some minor marks on the slide and a 'idiot' scrap where someone disassembled the gun and the side stop rubbed the frame.

So they are asking $525 and tax.. Is it a good buy or ok buy or to high?

And has anyone experience with the reliability of these guns?

Thanks,

Deaf

That's a good price for most any SA 1911 except perhaps the straight GI government guns.
Superb CC firearm, I love mine, very comfortable with extended mag, try it, you'll like if not, let me know, I'll try to trade you out of it.

My Ultra Compact is one of my favorite handguns. I have a Colt Commander, a Colt Gov't Model, a Kimber Classic and an SA GI but this one is the one that I carry most.

Never had a FTF, ever.
