Springfield Armory Custom Shop

If you know what you are looking at and the shop allows you to perform the requisite safety tests before buying you really ought to consider the used market. If you can find what you want you'll not likely loose much if you sell it 18 months from now or at the end of the season when you switch back to full size carry.

You may even find a gem that gives you pause on that future purchase. I wouldn't try to talk you out of it, everyone deserves nice firearms but Springfield hasn't cornered the market on them.

Best of luck hunting the right one down.

^^yikes! his "buy know" price is obscene!

most of the "features" he's listing come standard on the gun, but he's making them sound like they're custom lol (like army kote finish, night sites, etc.). only the bobtail and frontstrap checkering are actually custom features. so price it from that.

looks to be in great shape from the pics, he's got an a+ rating, and there's no reserve.....

His opening bid is 1100.00 !!! i dont think its worth that

actually, unfired, and with a note from the SA custom shop for the work done, THAT price wouldn't be bad. any more though, and it's not a good deal.

Then you have the od green one, but i see some wear on the slide in one of the pics

now that's a rip. that's what they go for brand new lol

Just curious , What would you guys have done at the custom shop for a loaded champion? (Remember its for carry)

I have to jump in here and suggest you take a look at the Dan Wesson Guardian. It sounds like it would fill your needs. Fit and Finish is top notch as well.

Found a Loaded Champion in my local shopFit and finish including trigger and mech's were all top notch!!! It had rays of light from the heavens shining on it calling my name. pickup is July 3rd

Im so happy! now i really gotta sell my quad by july 3rd lol

So what should i have the custom shop do for my strictly carry gun? Im definitely getting it bobtailed and night sights.

Probably switching out some small things. I looked under commander size(I think thats right...Commander on a gov. frame?)
-Wilson Deluxe a2 sear
-Wilson skeletonized ultra light hammer
-Wilson Shock buff system
-Wilson Skeletonized Ultralight Match Trigger
-ED BROWN oversized barrel bushing
-wilson HIGH-RIDE AMBI THUMB SAFETY

Also what criteria must be met in order to have a custom shop engraving? Is it something i can have done on a once stock pistol

I think you're the first fellow TGO1 owner I've ever met, that's a beauty you've got there. Any idea how many they made?

Cool, and thanks! :) There's actually a handful of others I know of from various forums. In fact, there's a sticky thread over on 1911 forum dedicated to the Legend Series, here's a link:

There have only been about 160 TGO1s made so far, and they seem to make a run of around another dozen once a year. I was just sort of curious to see what number you had, and maybe when it was made. Your's looks like new, nice! The TGO1 is as good as I've ever seen.
